Behind the scenes at Southend Airport

In the final part of this series, I demonstrate the procedures and typical radiotelephony when operating from an aerodrome in controlled airspace in the UK.

I fly in to Southend aerodrome in Essex, and meet the team working on Southend Lower Airspace Radar, Southend Director and Southend Tower.

  1. Really interesting series Jon, having done most of my flying from Liverpool, for me its often the smaller airfields with less control that seem daunting. I guess its comes down to what you’re use to. Hopefully I be with you and others on Sunday. Good work.

John good series, I find it doesn’t matter how often you have done the different types of procedures, there is always something to learn, as I did from watching this series.
