Binge watch every video I've ever made!

After a break of more than a month from flying, I took India Zulu for a short trip to Lydd.  The flight, being only 30 minutes was convenient, as it didn’t cost too much yet gave me the opportunity to land-away.

On 2nd July 2015, I took a flight along the M20 in Kent, in order to view “Operation Stack” from the air.  This is a police operation to queue lorries, affected by disruption to cross channel ferry or tunnel services, on Kent’s main motorway, the M20.

After a lovely 2 days in Newquay with my friend Andrew, it was time to return home.

On Monday 8th June, I flew to Newquay from my base at Biggin Hill airport in India Zulu.  The 240 mile trip is my furthest yet, and was most pleasurable. I chose to fly via Guildford, Goodwood, Ryde, Christchurch, Swanage, Dorchester, Exmouth, Torquay, Plymouth, and Looe.

In the third and final flight of the day, Jon returns to Biggin Hill from Goodwood with Alex and Becky.  Routing via Midhurst and Guildford.

Jon Hunt takes his friends Michael and Andrew for a short trip along the coast from Goodwood Aerodrome, capturing great aerial views of Bognor, Shoreham Airport, Beachy Head and Brighton.

Jon takes his niece and her boyfriend on a day trip from Biggin Hill to Goodwood on the Sussex coast.

Jon & Alastair return to Biggin Hill after a day trip to Compton Abbas.  This was a far less bumpy journey than the outbound leg, as the cloud cover increased, the ground temperatures fell, causing fewer thermals.

Jon takes his friend, Alastair, on a day trip to Dorset, landing at Compton Abbas Airport.  Our 1 hour flight, took us past Guildford, Alton, South of Middle Wallop and Shaftsbury.

Jon & Andrew take the PA28 for a spin around the East Kent coastline.  Great aerial views of Paddock Wood, Ramsgate, Margate and Whitstable.

I took a short flight from Biggin Hill to Paddock Wood.  I had planned to fly a longer route, but the turbulence was so uncomfortable, and the cloud base fairly low (~1800ft), so I decided to return back after circling my home town.

I took a long flight around Kent, Sussex and Essex this week, to help our flying group out after the new engine was fitted to the aircraft we use.

My landings had been a little sloppy in recent weeks, and so it was time to sharpen things up.  I asked an instructor to run through my landing technique, then a few days later I took a solo flight to practice that work.

This video demonstrates what it’s like to fly a light aircraft, in this case a Piper PA28, on a gusty, turbulent day.  It was sunny and clear, but the weather charts warned of moderate turbulence and a chance of gusts.

Jon takes friends for a tour of Kent.  Flying over Maidstone, Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Herne Bay, and the QE2 Bridge.
